Understanding Prevention
Preventable diseases should be discussed more in the community and workplace. A lot of people do things based on their environments, family, leaders and habits that were created along the way. Habits are things that can be changed if the correct information is out there and if the information is displayed to create a positive effect. The community is failing the citizens and youth when it comes helping them understanding how to control their health and maintain a healthy lifestyle. Healthy living seems to be a hard thing to do, but if it becomes a part of someone’s daily routine, the challenge would not be so challenging.

Preventing Diabetes through Design Thinking
About: Welcome

Design Thinking Process: EMPATHIZE-DEFINE-IDEATE-PROTOTYPE-TEST are the entities that make up the design thinking process. This process is made up of these five critical steps that helps the designer connect with the user, elaborate on their thoughts, create a plan to maximize their ideas, develop a model from those ideas and test the plan. This helps someone think through a problem in order to come up with a solution. Rather than just thinking about the problem and making rash decisions, design thinking helps a person formulate new alternatives and options. Design thinking focuses on what the user needs and creates an understanding about how the problem and solution will affect all entities involved in the process. The understanding is derived from researching, observing, collecting data, and gathering stories from people involved in order to generate an empathetic solution that relates to everyone involved. During the process of design thinking the ideas are tested and prototypes are created in order to lead to the best solution to the problem. This process will enlighten the issue from various perspectives which will create the most reasonable outcome (VanGenderen, n.d.).
